SALES ASSISTANT

Pyrotecnico is America’s most creative fireworks display and special effects company. We are hiring a Sales Assistant, to be based in our New Castle, PA office. The Sales Assistant is half of a team composed of the Show Producer and Sales Assistant.  While providing support to the Show Producer, the Sales Assistant helps to drive sales and customer satisfaction by working collaboratively with the Show Producer.  This role is heavily administrative; candidates must be able to multi-task, work independently and have strong time-management and organizational skills. The Sales Assistant must have a high level of professionalism and must be able to communicate with a wide-range of clientèle effectively and efficiently.

This job requires connecting with people quickly in an outgoing, friendly manner. The use of persuasive communication skills to gain the interest and involvement of others in the work process is an important aspect of the job.

An extreme sense of urgency is needed, combined with getting work done in complete, accurate detail and in accordance with company standards and policies. The motivation for this position comes from a strong sense of duty and a feeling of responsibility for completing work both quickly and correctly.

A faster than average work pace is necessary combined with impatience for results. Follow-up of delegated work must be very thorough. Decision making will be done with the ideas and advice of others, but always carefully and cautiously within the guidelines of established company policy.

Selling ideas to others and the ability to train, teach and motivate a team are strong aspects of this position. Change is an ongoing occurrence of this job and will be approached conservatively and with the support and guidance of management.

Job Duties will generally include the following:

  • Prepare sales-related documents throughout the sales process (e.g., proposals, contracts, or invoices)
  • Create and maintain computer- and paper-based filing and organization systems for records, reports, and documents
  • Make initial phone/email contact with prospective clients to obtain all information regarding the potential for a show
  • Make initial contact with current customers regarding future shows
  • Provide customer service to our customers at all levels regarding their shows
  • Follow up with clients, as necessary and directed, on show accounts payables
  • Complete and submit any necessary permit paperwork to officials in an accurate, complete and timely manner
  • Answer telephone calls promptly and in a friendly manner and directs call to the appropriate personnel
  • Coordinate communication between sales, contracted employees, and facility/production managers

Fireworks and special effects experience is preferred but not mandatory.

Please note that this position is based in Pyrotecnico’s New Castle, PA office, and there is no opportunity for working remotely.

LIVE ENTERTAINMENT SPECIAL EFFECTS SALES

Pyrotecnico FX is an industry leading special effects provider known for innovative, pyrotechnics, lasers, flames and atmospheric effects. Specializing in live entertainment, corporate and special events, as well as the collegiate and professional sports industry, Pyrotecnico FX utilizes the most cutting edge technology, products, and design available to create unprecedented experiences.

We are hiring a salesperson in the Los Angeles area whose primary sales territory will be California & Las Vegas.  This position is significantly responsible for attracting new clients, maintaining existing clients, and selling products and services for our growing special effects division.  In addition to sales, this position also oversees sold shows, and assures that there is a proper hand-off to the Production staff.  During the entire show production process, this position is the central contact with the client.  

The focus of this job is on achieving results which are aligned with the larger picture of the organization and its strategic goals. Initiative, coupled with a sense of competitive drive, and the ability to stay focused on results despite changing conditions, is the key to achieving the performance objectives of this job. Because environmental and organizational conditions change rapidly, the work involves innovation and creativity in generating ideas for quick response. Decision making is focused on implementing practical, timely solutions. The job requires getting things done quickly and handling a variety of activities. Self-assurance, and the confidence to purposely drive toward results while constantly problem-solving and engaging the commitment of others is essential. A leadership style that is firm and goal oriented, and yet motivates, trains, and engages others in an enthusiastic way is important. The emphasis on building rapport and relationships with individuals and groups requires an outgoing, poised and persuasive communication style. Because the pace of the work is faster than average, the ability to learn quickly and thoroughly while continually recognizing and adapting to changing conditions is critical. The scope of the job may require effective delegation to proven people. Especially routine and repetitive details should be delegated but with responsibility for follow up and accountability for timely results. While the job requires the ability to act independently, a sense of urgency and the confidence to handle a variety of challenges, a full commitment to the success of the business and high standards of achievement are expected in this position. The emphasis is on results, and effective systems that achieve results through and with people, rather than on the details of implementation. A minimum of three years sales experience in the events industry is required.

Please note that this position is for the California and Las Vegas sales territory.  We are primarily interested in candidates who currently reside in Los Angeles.
